GALESBURG — Monmouth-Roseville High School senior Brayden Reece has signed to play next season for the Carl Sandburg College men’s golf team.
Reece capped an impressive final season with the Titans by tying for 29th in the Class 1A state tournament. He was co-champion of the Williamsfield Regional, where he shot 71 before losing a playoff for medalist honors, and tied for seventh at the Aledo Sectional with a round of 77.
A two-time first-team member of the Moline Dispatch/Rock Island Argus Boys Golf All-Star Team, Reece averaged 38 for nine holes and 78 for 18 holes as a senior. He finished seventh in the West Central Conference meet this past fall.
As a junior, Reece finished fourth in the Class 2A Macomb Regional and took sixth in the WCC.
Reece will be reunited next season with former Titans teammate Nate Bizarri, a freshman with the Chargers. He joins a Sandburg program that has qualified a team or individual for the NJCAA Division II national tournament each of the past five years and in nine of the last 10 seasons.
