Chargers’ Urtubey, Nganga Named to All-Region IV Soccer Team

GALESBURG — Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer players Francisco Urtubey and Stephen Nganga have been named to the All-Region IV Championship Division team for their play this season.

Urtubey, a freshman defender from Argentina, recorded just one assist on the season but was a mainstay on the Chargers’ back line this season, starting all 15 games. He helped Sandburg hold opponents to no goals or one goal in nine contests. The Chargers held three of their six division opponents scoreless and conceded just one goal in two other matches.

Nganga, a freshman midfielder from Kenya, appeared in all 15 contests for Sandburg. He scored two goals and had one assist, highlighted by a game-winning goal in the Chargers’ 2-0 victory over Malcolm X on Sept. 20.
