Sandburg Women Take 3rd at Sauk Valley Invite

DIXON — Anastasia Beetler’s fourth-place finish paced the Carl Sandburg College women’s cross country team in the Sauk Valley Invitational on Saturday.


Beetler crossed the finish line in 19:59 as the Chargers placed third out of seven teams on the women’s side. Andrea Gordon (11th, 20:42) and Shayla Kozak (17th, 21:17) also turned in top-20 times for Sandburg. Ashlynn Steel (23rd, 22:20) and Jaden Medina (24:20, 32nd) rounded out the Chargers’ finishers.


Brennan Foley (15th, 29:04) and Dylan Brooks (19th, 29:23) added top-20 finishes for the Sandburg men’s team, which took sixth in the team standings. Other runners for the Chargers were Sebastian Arteaga (35th, 31:50), Tanner Owen (36th, 32:56), Justin Findlay (37th, 34:25), Ammier Hardges (39th, 34:50) and Alfredo Montoya (40th, 36:26).


Sandburg’s next race is the Region IV championship meet Oct. 29 at Moraine Valley Community College.
